Comms strategy and delivery for Design South East
A long-term communications transformation for Design South East, including audit, strategy and delivery – resulting in a 590% increase in LinkedIn reactions and sustained newsletter growth

Design South East is an independent not-for-profit working across the south east, providing expert design advice, facilitation and training for local authorities, developers and communities. It also runs events through its Kent Design brand, in partnership with local authorities across the county.
This partnership focused on embedding communications into the organisation’s wider strategy. I began with a full audit – covering messaging, tone of voice, social media, SEO and positioning – followed by a new communications plan, a refreshed social media identity and the relaunch of the newsletter.
Since then, I’ve continued to support delivery across channels while helping the team build internal capability and confidence. The aim isn’t just to improve content, but to shift the role of communications within the organisation – making it more strategic, consistent and aligned with DSE’s evolving ambitions.

“Anthony developed a communications strategy, integrated our branding with our social media, transformed the quality of our newsletter and LinkedIn posts and improved the engagement and interaction with our stakeholders. The results, in terms of increased engagement with stakeholders, speak for themselves. He is also a pleasure to work with, not only responsive to feedback but also able to constructively challenge us when needed.”
